The aim of the course is to provide students with an overview of key legal issues related to the development, deployment, and use of artificial intelligence. The course focuses on the European legal framework, in particular the AI Act and the AI Liability Directive, and also addresses liability for damage caused by AI, data protection, intellectual property, labor law aspects, and other areas affected by AI technologies.
Students will become familiar with ethical and legal questions of algorithmic decision-making, the regulation of autonomous systems, and global approaches to AI regulation. Emphasis is placed on the practical impact of legislation, case studies, and current challenges, including the regulation of large language models and general-purpose AI systems. The course combines legal, technological, and ethical perspectives on the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence.
