The Internet of Things

9 ECTS
Bachelor
Czech | English
Marek Beránek

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the Internet of Things (IoT) and provide an understanding of the basic principles behind IoT operation. Students will learn how to design and build their own IoT solutions using available platforms, ranging from popular hobby solutions like Arduino and Raspberry Pi, through semi-professional solutions such as BigClown, to professional solutions like PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) that extend into areas referred to as Industry 4.0. Through case studies, the course will present real-world applications of IoT in practice. Additionally, the course will familiarize students with the basics of designing 3D models and 3D printing. It will also include an introduction to measurement and the physical characteristics of the studied systems.
